Can you believe it? We’re already wrapping up Term 1 — a big, jam-packed start to our 20th birthday year. Time really does fly when you’re having fun!
The last day of Term 1 classes is Thursday, April 2
Term 2 begins on Saturday, April 18.
Please note, classes will not run on the following public holidays: Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Anzac Day.

A huge thank you to every dancer who performed at the City of Whittlesea Community Festival. We showed up with energy, enthusiasm and true MSF spirit, and we couldn’t be prouder of the dancing and community spirit our dancers bring to every event.
WELCOME
This term we welcomed back our full 2025 teaching team, including Carla, who is well and truly back from maternity leave. We also welcomed Emily, our lovely and talented new Thursday Teen teacher, who is already having such a positive impact on our growing students.
We’re also excited to welcome our first cohort of DanceStep Student Teachers. You’ll see them around the studio in their student teacher t-shirts, assisting in our younger classes as they learn, lead and inspire.
WHAT’S NEXT
There’s still a week and a half left of Term 1, with all classes running as normal. It’s a great time to trial an extra class or two before the holidays and before concert work begins in Term 2.
We offer a generous multi-class discount for students taking more than one class per week, and we love seeing how extra training helps dancers build skills, confidence and versatility. Depending on age group, we offer hip hop, ballet, jazz, acrobatics and contemporary.
If your dancer would like to try an additional class before the break, just send us an email.
And on that note, enrolments are still open. If you have friends who’ve been meaning to try MSF, invite them along or send them our way and we’ll help find the perfect class.
GET ACTIVE KIDS VOUCHERS
A quick reminder that Round 10 of the Get Active Kids Voucher Program is now open, and MSF is a registered provider. Eligible Victorian families can apply for a $200 voucher or reimbursement to help cover term fees, studio-sold uniform items and MSF merchandise. Applications close at 10:00am on 2 April 2026 (or earlier if funding runs out), so if you think you may be eligible, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible. Once approved, please forward your voucher code to mainstfunk@gmail.com so we can apply it to your account.
EASTER PJS DRESS UP + FUNDRAISER WEEK
Friday March 27 – Thursday April 2
It’s an MSF tradition to finish Term 1 by raising money for the Good Friday Appeal, an incredible organisation supporting thousands of patients and families through The Royal Children’s Hospital.
Last year we raised an amazing $733.64. This year, let’s see if we can reach $850.
During fundraiser week, dancers are invited to wear PJs, Easter dress-up, or a mix of both, and bring along a gold coin donation minimum.

SAVE THE DATE – MID-YEAR DANCE CONCERT
We’re excited to announce the date and venue for our Mid-Year Concert.
This much-loved event will once again be held at Enjoy Church Epping on Saturday, June 20.
All students from Mini to Seniors will perform.
Further details, including show times and ticket information, will be shared soon.
Please note: Saturday classes will not run on June 20 due to the performance.

Our end-of-year concerts take place in a professional theatre environment with state-of-the-art lighting, sound and staging. It is the highlight of the MSF calendar and what our dancers work towards all year.

COMPULSORY THEATRE REHEARSALS

Finishing times to be confirmed closer to the date
The theatre rehearsal is the only compulsory event of the year and is essential for a safe and confident concert experience.
Why rehearsals matter:
It is the only chance to rehearse on stage before concert day.
Dancers learn spacing, entrances, exits and stage awareness.
It helps reduce nerves and build confidence.
Theatre hire is a significant cost, provided to MSF families at no extra charge.
⚠️ Students who do not attend their compulsory rehearsal will not be able to perform in the concert.
