We’re now halfway through the year, and time is absolutely flying. We are so thrilled with the progress, friendships and memories being made during our milestone year — 20 years of Main St Funk! 🧡
WHAT’S HAPPENING?
PLACES PLEASE – MID-YEAR CONCERT
Our mid-year concert, Places Please, is next week on Saturday 20 June at Enjoy Church, 74 Wedge Street, Epping.
Extensive concert information has been shared multiple times via email and previous newsletters, so please refer back to these communications if needed. Ensuring you adhere to all requests and requirements helps give your child the best possible concert experience. Arriving with incorrect uniform items, the wrong hairstyle or at the wrong time can create unnecessary stress for both dancers and families on an already exciting day.

WHAT ELSE IS NEW!?
MSF VARSITY BOMBER JACKETS ARE ON THE WAY! 🔥
After years of searching for the perfect jacket, we are so excited to announce that Main St Funk Varsity Bomber Jackets are currently making their way to MSF and are expected to arrive at the end of June. These jackets are bold and bright in our iconic MSF colours and feature embroidered logos on the front and back, premium fleece construction and a quilted lining for extra warmth and comfort. We currently have limited stock on order and aren’t yet sure whether these will become a permanent part of our merchandise range or remain a special release for our 20th year. So if you’ve been waiting for the perfect piece of MSF merch, this might be it!

HAAAAVE YOU MET FELIX?
Felix Funk has been restocked just in time for the mid-year concert and we thought he looked a little lonely behind reception by himself, so FiFi Funk has officially joined the MSF family too!
The Main St Funk bears make the perfect companions to and from dance class and are a wonderful congratulatory gift after concerts.
Many of our dancers have already formed a special connection with Felix and those who already have their own bear at home are sure to fall in love with FiFi as well. She is super cute!

TRIAL WEEK
Classes continue at their normal times during the final week of Term 2 (22–27 June).
Come along to your usual class for a super fun and relaxed end to the term, but all students are also invited to try additional classes.
We offer Hip Hop, Ballet, Jazz, Acro and Contemporary (for older dancers) and generous multi-class discounts for students who take more than one class.
We always find our dancers are inspired to try new styles after watching the mid-year concert, making Trial Week the perfect opportunity to give something different a go.

New students are also welcome during Trial Week, so if you have friends or family who are interested in dance classes, feel free to spread the word about Main St Funk and refer them to our website to enquire and book their free trial.
100 PERCENT CLUB
In the final week of term, any student who has achieved 100% attendance throughout Term 2 will receive a small token of achievement.
This is to acknowledge the hard work, commitment and determination it takes to get to class every single week. We know it isn’t easy when juggling illness, school camps, family commitments and busy schedules. This initiative is certainly not designed to make any dancer feel bad for missing class. We are all human! Instead, it’s simply our way of applauding those who managed to make the near impossible happen. Missed out this time? Don’t worry — it all resets in Term 3, so there’s always next time.
WHY DO WE KEEP NAGGING ABOUT ATTENDANCE?
Because attendance matters.

HOUSEKEEPING
- Full uniform (including shoes and hair) is required each week.

- Bring a full water bottle and use the bathroom before class.
- Punctuality matters. Arriving late can disrupt class and learning.
- Please clean up after yourselves in the foyer, lounge, kitchen and bathroom areas. We absolutely love that our community makes themselves at home, but please remember these spaces are shared by hundreds (literally!) of people every week and any mess made is cleaned up by your dance teachers.
HYGIENE
Dance is sweaty work and we have some of the hardest-working kids in the north!
Please remind your dancer about:
• Deodorant before class
• Showering after class
• Washing uniform regularly
To put it nicely… some nights can get a little pongy at MSF. 😅

The theatre rehearsal is essential for a safe and confident concert experience.
⚠️ Students who do not attend their rehearsal will not be able to perform.
