DanceStep – Student Teacher Education Program

DanceStep (Student Teacher Education Program) is Main St Funk’s official leadership pathway for maturing students aged 10 years and older who are ready to step up and lead.

Through a combination of structured online learning and weekly in-studio assisting, DanceSteppers build confidence, communication skills, professionalism, and a strong understanding of safe dance and teaching foundations.

As trusted role models, DanceSteppers are looked up to by our younger students — supporting classes by helping children feel safe, confident, included, and encouraged. They assist teachers with class organisation, demonstrations, guidance, and care, while learning how to lead with kindness, initiative, and responsibility.

More than just assisting, DanceStep is a purposeful education program that provides clear progression for students who aspire to become future dance teachers and leaders within the Main St Funk community.
