🧡 Photo Week, Concert Info & Important Dates

Hi MSF Fam,

Wow – here we are! Concert season is well and truly upon us, and we’re filled with excitement, butterflies, and sequins (yes, they get everywhere).

As we head into this busy time, here’s everything you need to know for a smooth and sparkly lead-up to the big show.

💪 Attendance & Punctuality

This is your friendly but firm reminder that attendance and punctuality are now non-negotiable.

Every class between now and the concert is crucial for your dancer’s confidence, safety, and success. Each week, routines are refined, formations are locked in, partner work and cannons are rehearsed, and important concert-day procedures are discussed. When even one dancer is absent or late, it affects the whole team.

Please make every effort to ensure your dancer arrives on time, every week.
If they miss class, it becomes increasingly difficult to catch up, which can lead to unnecessary stress and a less enjoyable performance experience. Prioritising attendance isn’t about pressure — it’s about preventing your child from feeling pressured later on when the spotlight is on them.

📸 Photo Week & Kitlists

Dates: Thursday, Oct 16 – Sunday, Oct 19

During Photo Week, regular classes will not run on Thursday through Saturday.
Monday through Wednesday, classes continue as normal.

This is a big event for our dancers and an exciting celebration of their hard work — but preparation is key.

Your checklist:
✔️ Read your photo info and kitlist email (sent late Sept) carefully
✔️ Check all your child’s classes — each class has its own kit list
✔️ Have everything packed, labelled, and ready to go before photo day
✔️ Arrive photo-ready – hair & makeup done, first costume on (TBA)

Please understand: MSF cannot do your dancer’s hair or makeup for you.
Consider how your child will feel if they arrive without the items they need or without the allocated hair and make-up.
We want every dancer to feel confident, proud, and part of the team — being properly prepared makes a huge difference.

Photo Day Schedule

  • Thu Oct 16: All Thursday classes

  • Fri Oct 17: All Friday classes

  • Sat Oct 18: All Saturday & Wednesday classes + ALL Petites

  • Sun Oct 19: All Monday & Tuesday classes (no Petites)

📅 Please note: Arrival times are listed on your kitlist and are not the same as class times. Please double-check and plan ahead to arrive early.

✨ Petites Photo Day Reminder

We can’t wait to see our tiniest dancers at their special Petites Photo Day on Saturday, Oct 18! This is always a heart-warming morning where our youngest students get to experience a little MSF magic of their own. Please make sure you’ve let us know if your Petite will or won’t be attending, and take a few moments to revisit the original email sent in September for details on what to wear, hair and presentation, and how the morning runs. It’s a beautiful milestone for our littlest Funksters — one we know you’ll treasure! 💕

🎟️ Concert Ticket Sales

Concert: Animal Kingdom – MSF in the Wild
On Sale: Sunday, Oct 26 at 10 am via TryBooking.com

Prices:

  • Adults (12 +) – $43

  • Kids (under 12) – $35

  • Toddlers on laps – Free

🎫 Each ticket admits one person to one show.
If you plan to see multiple shows, you’ll need a ticket for each.

Accessibility:
If you have an audience member who uses a wheelchair or walking frame, please email us by Fri Oct 24 at 5 pm so we can make arrangements.

🎭 Compulsory Theatre Rehearsal

Date: Sunday, Nov 16
Time: TBA
Location: Loyola College, Watsonia
Petites do not perform.

This is the only compulsory event of the year — attendance is non-negotiable.
If your child doesn’t attend, they cannot perform in the concert.

Why it matters:

  • The only chance to rehearse on a professional stage

  • Builds confidence and familiarity with cues & lighting

  • Venue hire costs thousands — provided to you at no extra charge

✨ End-of-Year Concerts

Concert 1

  • Classes: Monday & Tuesday + Teens & Seniors

  • When: Saturday, Nov 29, 3:30 pm (Arrive 2:30 pm)

Concert 2

  • Classes: Friday & Saturday + Teens & Seniors

  • When: Sunday, Nov 30, 11:00 am (Arrive 10:00 am)

Concert 3

  • Classes: Wednesday & Thursday + Teens & Seniors

  • When: Sunday, Nov 30, 3:30 pm (Arrive 2:30 pm)

Our Petites program (ages 2.5–4) continues to grow!

🏡 Housekeeping

Let’s keep the studio safe and welcoming for everyone:

  • Toilets: Use before class, keep clean, flush properly, and dispose of paper towels and sanitary items responsibly

  • Foyer: Shared space — no running, cartwheels, yelling or shouting

  • Attendance: Be consistent and punctual (100% Club recognition!)

  • Uniform: Correct gear = safety, correction, and team pride

  • Water bottles: Bring a labelled bottle and stay hydrated
