FUNKY AND FAIRY PETITES (2.5-4 Years Old)
We do not enforce a strict uniform for our youngest age group (Petites) but we encourage comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear.
BALLET (Mini, Tiny and Littlie)
UNIFORM: Plain black leotard (sleeveless preferred), Black ballet skirt, Pale pink ballet tights. A plain black ballet crossover is permitted but not compulsory, in colder months but not for performance.
HAIR: A slicked back ballet bun (hairspray, gel and hairpins required) that sits at the crown of the head. The bun should be secured by hairpins and hair net. No fringes or hair on the face. MSF Jojo bows encouraged but not compulsory.
SHOES: Leather or canvas, pink, ballet shoes. These need to be purchased from a ballet store to ensure the correct fit and elastics should be tied, trimmed and tucked inside the shoe (no bows on the outside).
BALLET/CONTEMPORARY (Junior, Inter, Teen and Senior)
UNIFORM: Plain black, thick straps, fitted singlet top or leotard, plain black fitted, full-length leggings. Plain black fitted long sleeve top permitted in colder months but not for performance.
HAIR: A slicked back, high ponytail (hairspray and gel required) No fringes or hair on the face. MSF Jojo bows encouraged but not compulsory.

JAZZ (Tiny, Littlie, Junior,Inter, Teen and Senior)

ACRO (Tiny, Littlie, Junior,Inter, Teen and Senior)
UNIFORM: Girls: Plain black, thick straps, fitted singlet top or leotard, plain black fitted, full-length leggings.
Boys: Plain black long fitted pants (like leggings) and a plain black fitted tshirt.
Long sleeves are permitted for both boys and girls during class but not on performance day.
HAIR: A slicked back, high ponytail (hairspray and gel required) No fringes or hair on the face. MSF Jojo bows are encouraged but not compulsory.
SHOES: Sneakers can be worn to class. On concert days, students will perform barefoot.
HIP HOP (All Age Groups)
UNIFORM: MSF Orange spot t-shirt, plain black fitted, full-length leggings or plain black track pants for boys. No logos or stripes etc. on pants.
HAIR: A slicked back, high ponytail (hairspray and gel required) No fringes or hair on the face. MSF Jojo bows encouraged but not compulsory. Boys’ hair can be styled to ensure it is not on the face or a distraction.
SHOES: Plain black (black sole, black laces, no logos) shoes. In previous years we have asked students to wear “hi-tops” (above the ankle). These have proved tricky to get on and off backstage so we are now encouraging a sneaker style below the ankle (can be slip-on or laces) with plain black socks that sit above the ankle (to create a “hi-top” look.) If you are still wearing your hi-tops from previous years, we suggest removing the laces and replacing them with black elastic. So that they can be slipped on and off for convenience.

MSF T-shirts and additional MSF Merchandise, including warm winter hoodies, MSF leggings, MSF JoJo bows, and MSF snapbacks and caps are available from the studio. All other attire and shoes can be purchased from Modern Body Retail (Craigieburn) and Kids on Broadway (Reservoir). MSF also encourage you to check out Energetiks Factory Outlet, Target, Kmart, Best and Less and eBay for less expensive options (dancewear only, not shoes.)
