Breeana has been an assistant teacher, working with our junior students since 2013 and after years of being mentored by Kristie Hocking, Bree officially joined the team, taking classes of her own in 2017. She is very much loved and admired by all of her students and the rest of the MSF team, because of her gentle and caring nature and her passion for dance. Bree holds a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and she hopes to further her studies in the areas of her combined passions: dance, dance teaching, and education. Bree is a dance teacher by night and a childcare worker by day, where she works in the baby’s room fulltime! Her experience and passion for working with children shines through her teaching and sees each of her students enter the studio excited and eager to learn and leaving after each class happy and smiling. Breeana is a fantastic role model for the MSF kids and having started at just 4 years old, is a perfect example of one of the many pathways students may choose to take when they start dancing with Main St Funk.
Laura has been dancing for 14 years, being involved in both local and interstate competitions from 8 years old to 18 years old. Her training began in Tap, Jazz and Ballet and then she branched into more styles as she got older, finding passions for more expressive genres such as contemporary, lyrical and hip hop. Laura also began developing her tumbling skills with acrobatics classes. Laura’s training has given her the opportunity to travel abroad and perform in shows in both Disney World and Universal Studios, as well as show-girl and podium work. Laura found her passion for teaching and choreographing in her early teens and after successfully completing VCE dance, which has a large focus on choreographic theory and safe dance practices, she was set on concreting her teaching career more confidently. She recently completed her Certificate to Teach under the Professional Curriculum for Acrobatic Dance. We are thrilled to welcome Laura to the MSF team as we love her professional, caring and attentive approach to teaching dance and we can’t wait to see how she challenges the MSF kids in Jazz, Hip Hop and Acro!
Holly has a strong passion for dance which she is excited to share with the students of Main St Funk. Holly started her dance journey at the age of 3, and never looked back. She has trained in many styles over the years such as ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap, technique and hip hop. Holly has had the opportunity to excel as a professional dancer, working both nationally & internationally, with some amazing artists which she believes enabled her to be the dancer, teacher and choreographer she is today. Holly believes that dance isn’t just about creating a sequence of dance steps, it can be much more for many children, such as building confidence and creating friendships. Her nurturing and friendly nature, makes her a perfect fit for the MSF team and we can’t wait to see our students shine under he guidance. Holly says she is looking forward to a magical year at Main St Funk.
