Ok MSF Fam, let’s get back to business!
Thank you for your patience and understanding during the 5-day snap lockdown. It was just a brief intermission on what is set to be an amazing year. The show must go on! So let’s keep the amazing energy and momentum going as we return to classes on Thursday, Feb 18.
A huge welcome to the 80+ new students we welcomed in the first two weeks of term and welcome back to the many loyal and committed families who made a return to the studio. It was so lovely to see your smiling faces. We also welcome two wonderful new teachers to our team. The gorgeous Tess and the beautiful Emilly. They join our highly committed teaching team; Nakarin, Bree, Laura and of course The MSF Sisters. To get to know your teachers more, have a read of their bios: https://mainstfunk.com/meet-the-team-2/
As we return to the studio once again, we remind you of our strict Covidsafe Plan in place to protect our community. Please note, these policies are a legal requirement that our dance school must have in place in order to operate. By enrolling into a Main St Funk dance class, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to abide by our Covidsafe Plan. This not only keeps you and your peers safe but also protects our business.
The short version:
- Masks are mandatory and MUST be worn by anyone entering the studio who is over 12 years old.
- Drop off ON TIME, dressed for class
- Parents, don’t stay on-premise unless your attendance is absolutely essential
- Don’t bring anyone extra to the studio, if you can avoid it
- Parents staying must sign in using QR code
- Clean your hands before and after class
- Stay away from the studio if you are unwell or have been advised to isolate.
- Read the full covidsafe plan here: COVIDSAFE PLAN – dance school epping
OBLIGATION FREE TRIALS
If you had an obligation free trial class booked in during the snap lockdown dates, your trial has been automatically rescheduled for the next upcoming class. We can’t wait to meet you!
Term 1 Fees are now due and invoices have been emailed out. Please finalise your balance by bank transfer (details listed on the invoice) or by cash in a clearly labelled envelope. If paying online, don’t forget to include your surname in the description!
CAR PARKING REMINDER
At Main St Funk we have a strict “street parking only” rule. This is even more important now that parents will be waiting outside to pick up their children. We have had complaints from our neighbours because MSF patrons were parking in their spots and blocking their doors. Under no circumstance should your car enter the gates on Lydia Court. It is not safe for our children walking to and from the studio and you do not have permission to park there. This includes “drop & go”. If you are just dropping your child off, please park in the street and walk your child down the driveway to the studio, and do the same for pick up. We thank you for your cooperation.
SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAM
Main St Funk will be holding a school holiday program in the second week of the April school holidays. This program will be free for all MSF students in lieu of the missed lessons due to the snap lockdown. More details to come!
In 2021 MSF will hold 3 end of year concerts and 3 compulsory theatre rehearsals. Most classes will perform in one concert only and will only be required at the one rehearsal.
- All seniors, teens and “open age” classes will perform in all 3 shows.
- Petites do not perform in the concerts.
The concert and rehearsal dates were originally sent out in early December 2020 and have been sent out to every new student upon enquiry. We hope this means you’ve had ample time to diarise these important dates and ensure there are no clashes that will mean your child will miss out. If you haven’t yet, please note below.
WHAT IS THE COMPULSORY THEATRE REHEARSAL?
Main St Funk only holds one compulsory event throughout the whole year and that’s our rehearsal at the theatre. The theatre rehearsal is a strict requirement for all students who wish to participate in the end of year concert. While we are holding three rehearsals, most age groups are only required at one.
Why is it compulsory?
This rehearsal is the only opportunity the students have to practice their routines on stage, before our end of year concert/s. A theatre can be a big and daunting place for a little person. The rehearsal ensures all students feel safe and in familiar surroundings when they arrive on the concert day. Professional theatres cost thousands of dollars a day to hire and our students having access to the theatre prior to their performance is an absolute privilege that comes at no extra cost to our students. At Main St Funk our priority is to give every student a positive experience on concert day. This compulsory rehearsal aids us in doing so.
Make sure you make a note of your child’s allocated rehearsal day, listed above, to avoid disappointment.
Make sure you are following Main St Funk on Facebook and Instagram. We love to post daily to give you inspiration, a sneak peek into our classes and to stay connected with our dancing family. www.facebook.com/mainstfunk www.instagram.com/mainstfunk
One last thing… most important thing to remember this year is that Main St Funk students dance for fun and because they love it. We encourage an inclusive, harmonious environment where our students are dedicated to their class and committed to working to the best of their ability, as a team. We are proud of the way we have mastered the balance of working hard and having fun and we are happy to have each and every one of you onboard for our 15th year of Main St Funk.
